Wednesday Write-Up: Versatile Blogger Award

image83

I am a bit behind on this, but in April I was nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by Mark at markbialczak.com. Better late than never, right?! Mark writes about life, sports, entertainment and does it with a humor and candor that keeps me reading… make sure to check him out!

Here is what I need to do to accept this award: 1) Thank the person that nominated me (check!), 2) Display the award badge (check!), 3) Give 7 interesting facts about myself, and 4) nominate 15 other bloggers.

THE SEVEN MAYBE MOST INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT ME EVER! Β

1. I have eaten grasshoppers, crickets, meal worms, whole frogs, chicken feet, tripe, and…. hmmm, what other possible gross things… I guess that’s it… So far!

2. I have numerous tattoos and plan to eventually have at least one tattoo on every major part of the canvas that is my body. Except my neck, head, and face (although tattooed eyeliner sounds pretty nice sometimes).

3. I love to move, about every two years I get the itch to change locations, even if it is just to a new house in the same town.

4. I am actually prettyΒ lazy, but am more OCD, that I must constantly clean my living area.

5. I love to read, but have little time to do so at the moment… I miss it.

6. My favorite Disneyland ride is Peter Pan, my least favorite is Splash Mountain. I refuse to ride that one, something about pummeling down a high mountain… must be because —

7. I am EXTREMELY scared of heights!

Now to nominate some of my favorite blogs… Please check them out (and to those I nominate, please don’t feel obligated to participate, I just want to share the love!)

AND THE NOMINEES ARE:

Atlanta Mom of Three

Expat Lingo

Fives on the Fly

Four Kids, One Mom Travel London

Free But Fun

Italy Take Two

Journey 2D Future

Mommy A to Z

The British Berliner

The Vanilla Housewife

They weren’t bad actually! Well really almost anything that’s been deep fried can taste good though.

Congratulations on the award! (and yes, scared of heights, that would explain it).

Thanks for giving us some great blog suggestions! Some familiar and worthwhile names and a couple of new ones in there.

You’re scared of heights but can eat all sorts of interesting critters. It’s funny how fears work with different people. πŸ™‚

It is! I never actually thought of it that way. Haha

Cool! Thanks for the nomination and for the list if other nifty blogs to check out. Have I eaten an insect? Only accidentally while cycling I think. Time to rectify that! But what should I try first? Fried (small) cricket/grasshopper sounds possible.

I would definitely recommend the crickets! They are my favorite!

Congratulations on the award and thank you for the nomination, I love awards πŸ™‚ I will check out the blogs I have not seen yet. You have eaten some interesting things πŸ™‚ I have eaten the chicken feet and the frog, and tripe is like some kind of national food here in Hungary (I don’t know if you saw it at resaturants) while you were here. Husband loves it, I am not a fan, I don’t even remember if I have even tasted it πŸ™‚

I am so glad to nominate you! I did not get to try tripe in Hungary, I mostly eat it in Vietnamese pho… Its really yummy.

Congratulations and thanks! Pretty fun details about you πŸ™‚ We’ll see when I get around to accept the nomination, but I’ll give you a couple of details based on yours: I don’t come even close to your list of weird things you’ve eaten. Most likely because I grew up as a vegetarian. Then I hiked to Santiago and it all changed.
I also like tattoos. I took my first one when I was 19. Back then I was told that when one takes one, one will always want more. Already back then I new what my next tattoo would be, I still like the idea but still haven’t gotten it… I guess when the urge is strong enough, I’ll know what to do!
And yes, I miss reading too. I mean reading other stuff than just work related texts.

Thank you! I always think I would like to be vegetarian until I realize I have to give up pork. I am still considering it for the near future though. Sometimes I feel that meat takes up too much of my meals… would that mean I would have to give up crickets actually? I guess that would be considered meat…
Oh what tattoo do you have? Inquiring minds (meaning me of course) want to know!

There is another option too, you know: eating mainly vegetarian and occasionally meat too. A nice compromise that also makes life easy πŸ˜‰

Congratulations! I loved the Peter Pan ride, too! Afraid of heights. Check. Eat anything. Sure. Love to read. Oh, yeah. Like moving? Do it about every 3-5 years (don’t like it, though). Just went up into the St. Louis Arch. Took a look out the windows, and got into the line to go back down. Yep. ‘Fraid of heights. And afraid of tattoos, too! What if it doesn’t turn out how you want (my OCD). πŸ™‚

Haha! That is definitely one of the scary parts of getting a tattoo, but I have only had one that I was not that pleased with and that was because I had it done by a guy that I didn’t know, and that had a bad attitude. I just got that one fixed and am finally happy with it. πŸ™‚

Awww. Thanks so much for the nomination. Yay! I look forward to reading the others but it’ll probably take at least till later in the summer to do the nomination justice, as I like to be thorough LOL!

P.S. I knew about the tatoos as they peek out at various times, but I would never have thought that you are scared of heights. You always sound confident and a go-do-it girl. I’m sure that you deal with the fear enormously well. Go-for-it-girls!

Haha, I wish I was that way with everything, but even Superman has his cryptonite right?! πŸ˜‰
