Monday Montage: Style

A couple of weeks ago I read an article by a woman who had her three-year old son dress her for a week and fell in love with the idea. So I stole borrowed it and last week, Z chose everything I wore for 6 days. My goal was to go for a full week, but on the 7th day, she didn’t have any interest in it so we ended it early.  I only wanted to do it if she found it fun as well.

I have to say that I got pretty lucky with the outfits that Z chose for me. I gave her carte blanche to my whole wardrobe (except swimwear and pajamas) and she ran with it and picked out some pretty mild and cute outfits. But, I bet you want to see them, right? Okay, here they are!

Day One

Z went easy on me the first day and picked out a light pink tank, white skirt, and coral flats. She also picked out underwear with a dark print on them that I am very glad did not show through the white skirt (phew!).

Day Two

Z chose my blue/white (yes, it really is blue and white… not gold and white haha… sorry, I couldn’t resist) sundress paired with what turned out to be her favorite pair of shoes of mine, the coral flats.

Day Three

By the end of the day I was loving it though. Especially the fact that Z chose two necklaces for me to wear and my flip-flops. What a quirky and fun outfit!

Day Four

Z found my one “fancy” dress in my closet on day 4. I was pretty happy that it was too big on me (I bought it three years ago for my birthday). It was fun to wear the dress again, but was a bit hot as it was lined.

Day Five

Well, when I was nervous about wearing the outfit on day three, I never realized that it could get worse! Z picked out a dress that I have never worn… EVER… a black and ecru striped stretch mini dress. I did my best to rock it and appear casual. Did it work?

Day Six

This was my last day of Z dressing me (unbeknownst to me at the time) and she chose my favorite black boho skirt and a blue tank… matched with the coral flats. This was the most comfortable outfit of the week.

Overall, I had a great time letting Z dress me for a week. She is quite the little fashionista.  I think Z enjoyed picking my clothes out and loved that I trusted her style. I loved that she pushed me out of my comfort zone and reawakened my love of dressing up.

Now it’s your turn! Would you let your toddler dress you? What do you think of the outfits that Z chose? What would you like to change about the way you dress? Leave a comment and join in the fun!

For those of you that want to join in on the fun and have your little ones dress you for a week and write about it, leave the link here so that I can read it!
