Monday Montage: Mute Muse

My muse seems to be avoiding me this evening.  Maybe it’s because I had pizza for dinner and now feel like a blob (a good possibility). Or, maybe it’s because of the issue with our future here in Thailand weighing heavily on my mind, although I don’t think that’s the reason.  I feel pretty calm about that actually. God has given me peace about our next steps that definitely passes my understanding. Must be the pizza.

I still am looking for people that would like to do a Monday Montage guest post. If you are interested,  I would love learn about the area of the world where you live! Please contact me here and we can set it up.

Oh, wait! I do have one thing I want to write about, a cute kid story!

This morning I was talking to Zoë, (in case you are new to my blog, she is my 3-year-old daughter) when all of a sudden she says, “Mommy, when I came out of your tummy I cried like a baby. And I took half your brain, too. I’m sorry I took half your brain.”  All this said with the utmost sincerity and love.  Apparently, she is picking up on my jokes that I have told others that she took my brain when she was born. Some people say baby girls steal your beauty, well she took my brain, too. My memory is gone and I cannot seem to complete sentences, let alone conversations… Wait, what’s a conversation again? Anyways, I couldn’t stop laughing. I guess now is a good time to start guarding what I say around and to her.

Alright, now for my Monday Montage this week. I am trying some different formatting for the pictures, so let me know if you like the frames or not. Thanks again for reading and bearing with my mute muse today. I hope my pictures make up for it.

My gym. Our neighborhood has work out equipment in a park nearby. I get to work out for free! And in the heat... extra sweating!

Z has been really into taking everyones picture lately. This was one of me while I was sweeping the floor this morning. Not bad for a 3 year old.

You’re a great communicator even without your “muse” and half a brain. I love Z’s photos. You can always write about her and her pictures if your muse isn’t co-operating. Or, ask her what to write about and do it from her perspective.

Love Big Buddha’s backside! What views from a bathroom! You don’t find that here in the States unless you are hiking! And your pizza comments crack me up! I like the frames, on my phone anyway! Terri

I didn’t want to leave the toilet it was so beautiful. But as usual I had z in there with me. She can only be contained for so long. Haha.
I liked the frames too, but didn’t know
If they would come off cheesy. 🙂
      Thanks Terri!

Love Zoë’s picture 🙂 We have definitely gotten a better view of how our kids see the world and us as parents (mostly from the torso down) by giving them the camera and seeing what kind of pictures they take.

Haha, I love her concern in taking your brain from you!! 😉 They really do listen to EVERYTHING we say! I loved your photos too, what beauty, creativity, and a future little photographer! 🙂

She is so sweet and concerned for me. It’s adorable. Thank you for the kind words! 😉 and thank you for stopping by and commenting!

I’ve never heard that before! Half my brain! 😛 Too cute. (I think I like no frames, since you are asking!)

I somehow missed your other post about having to leave Thailand. It’s all the talk among expats, and I’m really upset that these new set of rules since they don’t seem aware of the impact, and don’t have another alternative in place. Ug! But I’d like to continue to follow along the journey, nonetheless 🙂

I honestly feel like that is what happened to me. I used to be smart, or at least I think I was. Lol. Thank you for the feedback on the frames, I am going to be trying a few different things and probably will end up just going back to normal anyways. But I like to try new things and see how they feel sometimes.
I am just hoping and praying that the rules that they impose on August 12th will allow us to stay longer. I would love to stay for just a little while longer so we could explore more of the country.

I keep hearing the bad news. Folks are volunteer visas getting the boot. Please have a backup plan. I’m concerned for many people at this point.

    What is a Monday montage?

It is what I title my posts on Monday. They include a “montage” of 5-6 pictures and a 2-3 paragraph write up about the place I am currently staying on our travels. 🙂

That’s a great picture of you! I mean, no head, but it looks sort of arty as if you’re supposed to be this anonymous house person… it’s a commentary on domesticity. What a deep child.

(The brain comment is hilarious. Bless her for apologising! Does she get the joke now?)

(Also, did I already say anything about the montage?)

I thought it was pretty artistic myself. She is such an intellectual while still being a total artist.
She knows that she really didn’t take my brain now.
No, what were you going to say about the montage?

Just can’t remember if I volunteered or not. My brain is more than half gone 🙂

No you didn’t, and I don’t blame you… I guess that with two kids you would be lucky to be left with half of it. 🙂

Oh, well, give me a couple of weeks to catch up and if you’re still looking for volunteers…?
