Monday Montage: Chicago

We had an unexpected day long layover in Chicago on our way to London last week. More on that on Wednesday, but still I wanted to share some of the pictures we took of our first time in the amazing city!

We started our day by taking the Chicago ‘L’ to the Logan Square stop and walking around. A couple of our good friends actually live in Chicago and gave us the suggestion to check out this area. (Thanks Annie and Casey!) We took pictures and walked around, stopped in a really cool toy store called Play, and looked around on our way to Revolution Brewing for a snack. Then we met up with our friends and they took us downtown to check out Millennium Park and have some delicious famous Chicago style pizza at Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria. The forced layover ended up being a great day!

Bacon fat popcorn from Revolutions Brewing. It was popcorn popped with bacon fat, topped with shredded parmesan, pieces of bacon, and sage leaves. It was decadent!

There was a DJ playing at the park and a huge crowd of people dancing and hanging out. It was great people watching. Also the huge metal sculpture in the middle of the park was so interesting.

One could walk under the sculpture and I had to get a picture of Chad and Zoë in it.

Have you ever been to Chicago? What did you think?
