Monday Montage: Fuzzy and Shimmery

This has been a spectacular week! The weather has been cool (only about 29-30°C or 85°F!) and the rain has been a welcome addition for our garden. We have had many days where the rain comes down while the sun is high in the sky and shining. It makes everything look like a fairy garden. All fuzzy and shimmery. Just beautiful!

Of course, did I take pictures on any of those fairy garden days? Nope. I will try next time.

Z has a bike that she was given from a friend that was moving and so we have been taking bike rides almost every day. Well, I walk to pup and she rides her bike. It is an awesome way to get out and meet the neighbors, including the neighborhood dogs! Here in Thailand, many people will let their pups roam free and so Jingle has fun playing with numerous dogs along our walks. It is interesting to see that the dogs never roam far from their actual homes and seem to be pretty happy and calm. So far (fingers-crossed), we have not had any run in’s with cranky dogs. This all makes me wonder if keeping our dogs fenced (in other area’s of the world) and caged is the right way to go? Hm… I will probably never know because I am way to paranoid about something happening to Jingle to test it out.

Here are the photos for this week! I have been pondering changing this series, maybe just making it my ‘Happy Monday Post’ and changing the format to be more about our lives instead of the pictures? What do you think? Keep the montage or change it?

He's growing up! And look at his silly ear! It cracks me up every single time I look at him.

This sign just made me shake my head... I guess I was made to cry and therefore should really drink this kind of water?Really?!

Now it’s your turn! What do you think? Would you feel comfortable with letting your dogs roam the neighborhood? Why or why not? Leave a comment and let’s have a conversation!

I like your photos AND what you have to say – but you should make your blog whatever you want it to be! 🙂 Free range dogs are almost unknown where we live – if we see one we know it’s escaped when it wasn’t supposed to, so we have to find the owners or call animal control to find them. Cats are a different story…they roam freely and poop in my garden whenever they feel like it. Boy, do I hate that!

I used to hate that as well… Or if I would accidentally leave my car windows down and a cat would spray in my car. Horrible!
It is definitely survival of the fittest when it comes to dogs here, they are smart enough to make it or they get run over 🙁
Thanks for the input… Sometimes I feel like the photos all start to look the same. 🙂

We’re not used to dogs roaming here either – I would be too stressed about something happening to cute Jingle!! Love the name..

The only places I have seen pet dogs roaming free have been in Asia. Even in Taipei (a fairly large city) people would sometimes do so! The dogs would know how to wait in the crosswalk and everything, very smart pups.
Jingle is Z’s dog, so she got to name him. It fits him though. 🙂

Haha, the water ad… you may want to apply for a position in marketing to bring a new, more logic and appealing, point of view to the ads over there?! 😀

No doubt! I was kind of blown away by that sign… It made me laugh and sad all at the same time. Good thing that I had the water right there in case I cried about it 🙂

Glad Z is able to get out and do some good biking 🙂 Our kids absolutely love every moment they’re out on a bike, and it’s almost that time of year again when we start paying visits to yard sales to find some 🙂

I am so happy that we got hers as a hand me down… Now I just need someone to give me one 🙂

I love your photos and blog.
Letting dogs run loose is an accident waiting to happen. Also, keeping them chained in the yard as I have seen in my travels is not humane. Happy is the loved and cared for house dog.

Very true auntie! Well said 🙂 I completely agree. And thanks! <3

    I love the photos.

In Ireland people used to leave their dogs free, too. It’s only recently that they introduced laws that they aren’t allowed roam free. I agree, I think that maybe they shouldn’t be tied up either. Definitely a downside to Japan is the small spaces they keep dogs. It breaks my heart to see my neighbours dog chained up day in and day out and only walked in the morning and evening. He’s a big dog and his own poop is there beside him… it’s awful. sorry for the tangent!!

      That’s so sad! We see
That a lot here too… Either they are free or chained with tiny little spaces 🙁

We’ll like whatever you do!—I wouldn’t feel comfortable letting my dog roam free. I’d be worried! What if the dog didn’t make it back?—How was the movie?

      Thanks Terri! 🙂
I don’t feel comfortable with it either, although when I am poop scooping in the yard it seems tempting 😉
The movie was meh… Way too old in some parts for z (I feel so old saying that I was a bit taken aback with some of the ‘humor’). I was a bit disappointed, but z seemed unaffected and loved it she said.
