Monday Montage: Celebrate

This week was His Majesty the King of Thailands’ birthday and with that comes many celebrations. One of the ways it is celebrated is that it is Thailands Fathers’ Day and there are many street festivals and fireworks.

Another way that some celebrate HM the King is by racing sailboats! You may not know this, but one of the things that Chad loves most is sailing. By luck and having awesome friends, he was asked to crew a sailboat in the Kings Cup Regatta. What an awesome experience!

This morning Z and I went out and watched the sailboats in Chad’s class start their first race of the day and although we couldn’t make out which boat he was on and I am sure he couldn’t see us on the shore, it was exciting to be a part of it a little. (I am totally going to twist his arm to write a post here about the experience!)

We also celebrated Chad’s birthday this past week. He is old(er) now! Haha, sorry Chad. I am always so excited to think that we have been together so many years and I still love to have fun with him. He is just awesome. Happy Birthday, Chad!

Today I have so many pictures to share, I think I have finally started getting in the habit of putting effort into taking pictures and trying to get good ones. So here they are!

There are about 5 little apartments behind these green walls. And they are held up with metal poles down the length of the wall. Puts things in perspective for me overtime I drive past them.

Belated happy birthdau Cjad! Envious of Z, I’ve tried snorkeling once and panicked. Swallowed a lot of water. Never have I tried it again! Hahaha! We have a lot of wires over our streets and houses over here too. Totally fire hazard. 😀

I had a hard time with snorkeling because of claustrophobia. It literally took 9 years for me to try it again and now I love it. The panic is there, but I have somehow figured out how to handle it… Lots of trying I guess. 🙂
Thanks for the birthday wishes to Chad!

I love snorkeling. It’s one of my absolute favorites. I can feel yucky and get in that water and snorkel and come out feeling 15 years old again. You know, which I’m pert-near close to anyhow. I’ll bet our thumbs weren’t “fat” at 15. 🙂 I’d love to snorkel with you girls!

That would be such a blast! Most of the beaches here have fairly good snorkeling around it. We shall go when you come stay!

I love the way the green hills rise up right off the beaches! It’s striking! That is so cool that Chad sails and sailed in this event! I would like to come to Thailand. It is beautiful looking! Even with the support poles on the apartments.

Well you would not be staying in one of those I’m sure, but it is a beautiful land that I feel has been blessed by God. It’s absolutely gorgeous and pretty self-sustained (or used to be at least, I guess I should say could be).
