Welcome to And Three To Go!
Hello! We are Jenny and Chad. Almost two years ago we sold all we owned, packed our bags, and left our hometown in California, toting our then 22 month old daughter along with us on the journey of a lifetime. There have been some trials and a ton of triumphs along the way.
This blog originally started out as a way to keep in touch with those we left behind in our home of California and has grown to be a way to meet fellow travelers, expats, and locals on our travels.
Our hope and goal for this blog now is that we will encourage others that want to travel the world to do it. No matter what their place in life may be. When we decided to travel, many people doubted that travel around the world with a toddler would be doable, let alone fun, but we have definitely found that it is! We want other parents/travelers out there to know that it can be done and have a place to come for information and help. So here we are! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us here.
Thank you so much for stopping by And Three To Go and we look forward to getting to know you!
We write posts on Monday and Friday, if you would like to see and hear more from us, please like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram and Twitter.

Hi Jennifer and Chad, What a wonderful adventure you have ahead of you. I applaud your decision to go traveling, and I can say from personal experience that it’s going to blow your minds – in a good way! Wishing you all the best on your journey, Terri
Thank you so much Terri!
Wow what a lifestyle. So are you guys just continuously on the road then?
Yes, for now we are. 🙂 We are currently trying to figure out what’s next for us. We really want to spend some more time in Asia, but also want to see parts of South America and tons more in Europe. My hope is that we can do this for a lot longer, with 2-3 months in each country as we go along, but we have no planned end date. It could be 3 years or three months. 🙂
Wow! Jealousy I am fighting here! (I’m winning.) How cool! We love to travel, but stay fairly close to home. I think we’ll start expanding here over the next year or two now that our youngest can sit awhile!
I was quite surprised actually how easy it is to travel with a toddler, but I only have one. I am blown away by parents that travel with more than one. 🙂
Great! This is one of my dreams. How did you manage it? I mean, I don’t know if you can answer me but I’d like to know how did you find the money to travel for so many months? How did you solve this problem? In any case, you are fantastic!
Thanks for stopping by!
There were a couple of things we did, we used airline mile credit cards to pay all of our bills for two years before we left which saved us tons of money on flights, hotels and rental cars. Also chad works part time on the road doing computer systems documentation and also has authored a book that is on Amazon.
We feel very blessed to be on this journey. The hardest decision was the decision to go, once we did that, everything else fell into place. 🙂 have a great day!
Thanks for your fast reply. I think I understand what you mainly need: just a little courage! And you have it! Bravi!
It’s nice to come across your travels as well! We are planning to spend a few months in Greece this fall, and your posts about Greece have lots of great information. We’ll also have to read more about your time in Budapest and Thailand, other places we hope to visit soon. Take care 🙂
I’m planning a week long trip to Curacao in May with two of my best friends and happened to stumble across your blog post while researching. Your review was definitely the most informative and gave such great insight that I began to peruse your other travel posts.
Let me just say what you’re doing is truly inspiring and amazing! It’s such a social cliche that when you have a child, you ultimately settle down in suburbia somewhere and never do anything adventurous or fun. Your year long story is a testament to how UNTRUE that is. My next two bucket list countries are Greece and Thailand and I will most definitely be referring back to this blog.
Thank you for sharing your journey and warm wishes!
Wow! Thank you so much for stopping by and for the kind words! I hope your time in curaçao is wonderful. We enjoyed it!
I just found this blog by searching “Phuket”. My husband and I, with our four year old, are planning to set off for at least a year abroad by the end of summer. We’d like to begin in Thailand, most likely Phuket. Can you share why you chose Phuket, and how you like it so far? How long do you plan on staying? And have you thought about or looked into school options yet? My little girl will be kindergarten age next September. Thank you for sharing. I hope you and your family are having a magical adventure!
Hello! I am so glad that you found our blog. I love that you and your family are going to be long term traveling, we have loved it so far and I would love to help in any way I can. So with that, here are the answers to your questions…
We chose Phuket because we have been here in the past and although we didn’t much like it then, most of it is set up nicely for those that love beaches, lots of things to do, and have kids. We considered Koh Samui, but were afraid we would get bored, and we tried Hua him, but it was just too slow and there was next to nothing for children to do. Of course we were looking for somewhere to make our home base while we travel more, not just visit. We have been here for 2 months now and I love it. We have made friends, our daughter Zoë has made friends, and we are never want for something to do. We will be here for at least a year (in between traveling often). Zoë is not even three yet, but we have been looking into pre-schools and international schools here and there are some that are very highly recommended. I can give you more info on that as the time nears.
I hope that answers your questions, and if you have any more or want to meet up when you arrive in Phuket you can email me at andthreetogo@yahoo.com.
Happy travels and good luck!
Thank you for the quick reply and useful information. I will certainly look you up when we arrive in Phuket. Is there a particular website on Phuket or Thailand you recommend ?
I have used a few, but most of the information I have is from past experience, exploration, and word of mouth. Chickynet.com is a great way to meet other expat women in Thailand. Also the wiki travel site on Phuket is pretty good.
Thank you for visiting my blog! Now I found yours! I love traveling too. Though, I haven’t done much of it lately. It’s great you can take your little one with you and show her so much!
Thank you for visiting my blog. 🙂 One of the best parts of this trip for me has been having Z with us all the time and seeing her grow and learn from each culture we visit.
What a fabulous way to live and such amazing experiences you’re giving Zoe. Japan’s one of my favorite places in the world. The people are so friendly and they adore children. I hope you all enjoy the trip.
Thanks for stopping by! We have been loving the trip so far and are looking forward to traveling more and more. We really enjoyed Tokyo and really want to go back and see the rest of Japan. Thanks again for commenting!
